FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE PERFORMANCE
Andrea Fessmann
Annabelle Marie and a select group of local singers will join Andrea Fessman, the founder of the KlangKunst Choir, and over 180 voices from Bavaria for a special performance of Carmina Burana at Carnegie Hall on June 4, 2026.
Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” is one of the most recognizable and frequently performed works in the classical music repertoire. Its thunderous opening, “O Fortuna,” has become synonymous with epic drama and is instantly recognizable even to those who may not know its origin. Yet, beyond its powerful melodies and rhythms lies a fascinating story of creation, musical brilliance, historical controversy, and a legacy that is both controversial and actively debated today.
Annabelle Marie
These two choral directors, singers, and musicians first met at Karl Jenkin’s 80th birthday choral performance at Carnegie Hall and knew instantly that they were destined to become friends and musical colleagues.
Annabelle is excited to bring her VOENA and adult singers to join Andrea’s choir and orchestra to experience this amazing synergy in a world-renowned concert hall.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. WHEN AND WHERE DOES THE CONCERT TAKE PLACE? ♫
The concert takes place at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Carnegie Hall is located at 881 7th Ave. (at 57th Street), New York, NY 10019. There will be a mandatory full rehearsal on the day of the concert. The exact time of rehearsal and performance will be determined as it gets closer to the date.
Rehearsals will start in April from 6:45 - 7:45 pm on Tuesday evenings at First Baptist Church in Benicia. There will be a zoom option for those adults who live out of town.
Q. WHAT DOES MY FEE COVER?♫
The participant fee is $700 per singer. It includes production costs, music, orchestral licensing and scores, rehearsals in Benicia and at Carnegie Hall, and event management.
Payment can be in full or a two payment plan (50% at registration). The balance will be automatically paid on January 15th from the same credit card used for the deposit (unless other arrangements have been made in advance).
Q. WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY? ♫
Annabelle is only allowed a limited number of VOENA members and adult singers to join this performance opportunity. Andrea Fessmann, the choral director of the concert, needs to have a final count of participants by January 31, 2025. For that reason there will be no refunds after January 15th. Consider getting travel insurance for any unforseen circumstances that might make you have to cancel your plans.
Q. WHO CAN I CONTACT IF I HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE PERFORMANCE OR REHEARSALS? ♫
Please contact us.
Q. IS LODGING INCLUDED IN THE COST? ♫
All participants can make their own NYC lodging, food, and flight plans. This allows you the most flexibility and also keep within your personal budget needs. However, we did secure a limited number of Deluxe Rooms with two queen beds each at Park Central Hotel which is a 3-minute walk to Carnegie Hall for June 3rd and 4th. If you are interested in securing one of these rooms contact us.
Q. CAN MY PARTNER JOIN ME IN NYC EVEN THOUGH THEY WON'T PARTICIPATE IN THE CONCERT? ♫
Yes since you are making all your own arrangements for lodging, food, and transportation. When concert tickets become available for the performance, we will let you know how to purchase the tickets for friends/family who want to go.
Q. HOW DO I GET THERE? ♫
The airports to consider for New York City are JFK, La Guardia, and Newark. Each has it own advantages and disadvantages (ease of transport, costs related to getting to/from). Your decision about where to fly in an out of will also be determined by your full and/or extended itinerary plans. We will also create a group chat to help with communications and suggestions.
